Selena

Selena graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A., with a major in English. During her undergraduate years, she wrote at the nationally recognized student newspaper, The

Michigan Daily. Along with her writing and journalism experience, Selena was a volunteer for Washtenaw County’s Community Action Network where she worked one-on-one with elementary students to assist with math and reading in an after-school program. Selena is currently a graduate student studying for her master’s in library and information sciences at Wayne State University’s School of Information Sciences. Here, she is a graduate student assistant and president of the student organization, Future Librarians for Inclusivity and Diversity. In these positions, Selena provides resources to prospective and current students to ensure they have everything they need to be successful in the graduate program. This includes spending time with students reviewing their application materials, including cover letters, resumes, and personal statements, while also providing guidance with scholarship and funding opportunities.
